THSA undertook a detailed review of the regional tourism market performance, identified the accommodation competition and opportunities, and delivered a report that highlighted opportunities and returns for a mix of upscale and more economical accommodation. The report included a high-level scope of works and indicative costings, and potential returns from refurbishing the rooms.
Subsequently the Roddy Group commissioned THSA to assist with the refurbishment. THSA provided an interior design concept, scope of works and program to marry the heritage value of the hotel with 21st-century traveller demands. This involved the restoration of existing timber furniture, sash windows and vintage fittings, coupled with the introduction of RFID keyed access and wireless IT capabilities, smart TVs, a sympathetic colour scheme and soft furnishings to respect the 20s era but with a modern twist. THSA’s project role comprised the concept designs for rooms, bathrooms and operational spaces, floor plans, specifications, FF&E procurement, project management and installation.
